Distressed French Empire Mirror

This wonderful mirror dates from early 19th century France - the Empire period. Beautifully ravaged by time it is a textural work of art created by history. A once formal mirror now with a casual appeal as if it has slipped into a pair of jeans. The vestiges of it's early 19th century gilt glory still shine through but it is utterly charming in it's now dishevelled and almost scruffy state. A gilt mirror with attitude !
