This late 19th century French settee dates to the Napoleon III period , circa 1885 . It is beautifully crafted in the Louis 16th style with fine carving depicting typical Louis 16th motif. The ebonised finish is original and was very à la mode at the time of Napoleon III. The settee still has it's original deep red velvet brocade upholstery intact and the underneath webbing has been recently redone to ensure that the settee may be used without hesitation.
