Napoleon III Ebonised Bonnetière

An elegant French 19th century bonnetière. This single door armoire dates from the Napoleon III period , circa 1880. The chic ebonised finish is original as is the mirrored glass. The style is pure Louis 15 th - the beautifully carved serpentine curves of the pediment are an attractive decorative flourish. The interior is fitted with several drawers and a hidden drawer is secreted in the base. This armoire would easily lend itself to having clear glass mounted in the door if the preferred usage was to house a treasured collection for view.
